Poem

7 Days

7 days

She’s untouchable

But just for those 7 days,

The other 23?

The other 23, he invades her home in several ways

“A man of culture and tradition”

Does not see the cause of his violation

And when she cries for help

The others join the race,

The race in which she fails to escape not just the chase, but the maze of being a “disgrace”

Still her vulnerability is invalidated based on the pieces of fabric she wears

Well aware of the winner,

She grieves in silence and rests her case.
